Randy, 43, was a lineman in Kennett, MO, and after 22 years on the job, was injured on November 2, 2004, by a hot wire that touched his left shoulder and sent fire through his body and out his right hand. His right arm was amputated at the shoulder, and extensive skin grafts from his legs were used to repair his left shoulder. When released, Randy opted for full retirement — very active retirement!
"That’s not stopping him!" says Diane, his wife. "We have built onto our shed — we sold his motorcycle and bought a trike, rewired it, and we’ve been riding like crazy. He mows the yard, he weed-eats, he edges — he can do anything he sets his mind to. Without that therapy, he wouldn't be doing what he is doing today."
"The first few days were a real eye-opener," says Randy. "Sandy showed me how to do things I never thought I'd be able to do. I learned a lot on the first day — how to wash under my arm one-handed, do my hair, tie my shoe, use chopsticks.
"The first time I saw my doctor after Sandy's treatment, he was amazed, and said, 'I never thought I’d see you get your hand over your head.'
"Sandy Fletchall is topnotch. I strongly, strongly recommend her!"
